Submitting Instructions

Follow these helpful instructions to submit a new seagrass project to be added to the Florida Seagrass Conservation Information System.

Submitting new projects to the Florida Seagrass Conservation Information System is very easy. If these instructions do not answer your questions, please contact us at seagrass@MyFWC.com.

  1. To submit a new project, follow the Submit a new project link at the bottom of the main seagrass page, research.myfwc.com/seagrass.

  2. The New Seagrass Project Submission Form allows you to enter your conservation project details. Descriptions and examples of fields are available in the article titled Field Descriptions.

  3. The Contact Information field allows you to choose the project leaders for your new conservation project. If the contact name you are looking for is not listed, the Add a Contact link in the title bar will take you to a new screen where you can enter the project leader’s name, organization, and other such information. After you click Submit at the bottom of the Add a New Contact page, the name will be added to the list and you will be returned to the Project Submit page to begin entering information.

  4. Complete all fields and click the Submit button to send the new project to FWC-FWRI for approval. If any required fields have been left blank (indicated by an * asterisk), you will be directed back to the New Seagrass Project Submission Form to make corrections.

  5. The Cancel button will abandon all entries and return you to the main Florida Seagrass Conservation Information System page.
After submitting a new project, you may be contacted by FWC-FWRI to verify or elaborate on your submission. Once approved, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing a link to your new project, and the project details will be made visible to FWRI site visitors.
